  • General Scott Miller, commander of #US forces in #Afghanistan, confirmed on Sunday that the #US has begun withdrawing troops from the country in local areas.

    Miller at a news conference in Kabul on Sunday told reporters, "All of our forces are now preparing to retrograde. Officially the notification date will be the first of May, but at the same time as we start taking local actions we have already begun that".

    Miller also said that US bases in Afghanistan will be given "primarily" to the Ministry of Defense and other Afghan forces, as well as some equipment the army does need to take back with them.
